Vietnam exports 48% of its textile exports to Japan in the first half of the year

According to statistics from Vietnam, the amount of Vietnam's exports to Japan in the first half of 2011 was US$4.4 billion, a growth of 27.1% over the same period of last year, and accounted for 10.3% of Vietnam’s total export volume in the first half of this year. Among them, Vietnam’s export value of products in June this year was US$722.9 million, a 19.5% increase over the same period of last year.

Vietnam’s main export product to Japan in the first half of this year was textiles, which amounted to approximately US$ 712 million in exports, a 48% increase compared to the same period last year.

The amount of Vietnam's exports to Japan in the first half of this year has grown compared to the same period last year, including crude oil ($151.37 million), rubber ($23.5 million), and chemicals ($55.5 million). And pepper (USD 6.4 million), these products accounted for 11.6%, 11.6%, 1.3% and 0.1% respectively of Vietnam's total exports to Japan in the first half of this year.

In addition, Vietnam exported fuel oil ($20.69 million), glass and its products ($13.3 million), paper and paper products ($32.4 million), and wires and cables (3.7 billion) in the first half of this year. Millions of US dollars and other products to Japan declined by 98.5%, 65.6%, 23.7%, and 12.8% over the same period last year.
